David: Hi gabrielle, hows things, thought you might like to read this, then probably not.lol.
This is the real bush and the general consensus of america, must be as the mass voted him in.
Its what i see,i know you won't agree but its worth opening your mind to as the damage being done by bush and friends is dangerous to world stability. <snip>Excerpt from A.N.S.W.E.R:
"The Iraq elections were manipulated by foreign occupation. Political parties outlawed by the occupiers could not participate. Foreign troops held the country in lock-down. Large areas of Iraq never participated. But even for those who did vote, participation was not a signal of support for the occupation of their country or an expression of love for Bush. The great majority of people in Iraq, who have suffered greatly, want to re-gain control over their country."Gabrielle Reilly: Well lets look at this logically instead of emotionally. It is in America's best interest to get as many Iraqi voters out to vote so our cause can be validated, the country stabilized, we can start bringing some soldiers home and save some of the massive expense we are incurring in Iraq. When you review throughout the year that one of the leading attacks was via car bombs, it is only common sense to not let cars near the polling stations. Not allowing cars near the polling booths was a brilliant plan to help prevent those who went to the vote from being attacked. We did not want Iraqi's to die voting!
Those few areas that were not open were not open because they could not be adequately protected from insurgents or insurgents prevented them from being open in the lead up to the elections.
There were several anti-US candidates running and in fact the winner looks to not be the US backed Allawi but a Shiite.
We don't care if the Iraqi's hail us, we care they are free from a vicious dictator and free to choose for themselves.
The votes are still being counted but it looks like the Iraqi voter turn out was a higher percentage than the typical voter turnout in America and in Australia prior to mandatory voting being implemented.
It is quite amazing to me that the radical left can turn such an historic day into something so negative with such irrational logic.
I know day to day a lot can change depending on how much sleep you get and how much stress one is under and it can make a big difference in a great workout vs. a mediocre one. So how do you cope with these changes??
I make sleep a priority. I don't like going out clubbing or anything so it is rare for me to be out of bed after 10pm, particularly when some of my transatlantic radio interviews can have me up for a 3am start to my day.
If you don't have the great workout are you bummed out or just know that tomorrow is another day?If I don't have a good workout I spend the day randomly visualizing what it is that gives me the fire in my belly to work out so I am more motivated the following day.
Thanks for your questions, Craig!
It looks like Tony Blair's decision to go in with the US and George Bush
over Iraq will cost him his post as Prime Minister. Do you think that the US
government expected this when Blair committed himself to the US President's cause?I don't think that either President Bush or Prime Minister Tony Blair were operating by the polls at all when the coalition aligned for Iraq. In fact, they went against popular opinion. After 9/11 I think their eyes were opened wide to the potential threat the globe was facing with terrorism and they made their decisions based on the safety of our nations and the international community. Thank goodness we had strong leaders that cared more about global safety than their careers.
Thanks, Roy from Essex, UK!
What other sports are you into? Do you like boxing (either watching or doing)?I love martial arts and have fought in a "non-contact" tournament until I was black and blue but was determined to win. I like physical contact sports but can't part take as much now that I have to keep my nose straight. :)
Thanks, Geoff!
Are you an evangelical Christian and does that dictate your feelings towards the Republican party? Not many conservative sites have links to a "Love" tab!No, I am not an evangelical Christian. I am very quiet and private in my religious beliefs. I am a firm believer in tolerance and kindness to all, including those who do not live life how I would choose, provided it does not inflict any harm on others. From the Bible I was influenced most by how Jesus actually lived his life, not from man's "brimstone and fire" interpretation of the Old Testament. I innately feel my life's calling is to spread love, kindness, and compassion, hence my "Love" tab. Jesus did not condemn Mary Magdalene but with quiet kindness and guidance led her to the light. This is the premise of much of my work.
At one point you talk about the ills of a dominant two-party system (I agree) controlled by money and yet you then back the one with the most money and least likely to change our political system relative to raising money. I find your web site intriguing, but very contradictory. Portions of it indicate that you are a grounded, caring person.
Perhaps you have been duped by the Democrat marketing "poor me" vote getter. I am very caring and grounded AND Republican just as many of my friends are. I don't believe it is healthy or beneficial for people to focus on their troubles but to get up off the mat and strive for a more prosperous life. If you remove the "poor" out of the equation and have a look at third generation wealth, many of the grown children lack motivation and lose the family riches because they have just been handed everything. I don't believe that "giving" anyone handouts is good for the human soul, whether they are rich or poor... it crushes motivation. By the same token, overwhelming hopelessness crushes the soul. I believe in faith-based opportunity that is not so much about constant handouts but available for people's darkest days and providing opportunities to kick-start their future.
Thanks, Todd Harps from Seattle!
