"Dear Prime Minister,
We know you have taken personal interest in this case and
im sure you have been privy to more information in regard
to this case that the Aust public ever will see and we totally
respect your attitude in regard the Indonesian Judicial
System. But surely their must be someway for this Government
to forward their major concerns to Indonesian Authority
in regard to the major holes in their case and possible
innocence of this girl. Mr howard you talk of the protection
of the people of this country, you send troops to foreign
countries to protect their people , so now its time to protect
one of your own . This lady has spent 7 months in a rat
infested prison to date with no dignity and probobly losing
all sanity . I plead to you as a Father , help her out .
She could be your daughter or relative and i ponder the
Government actions had that been the case." Greg,
Australia
"Doesn't matter if
Corby is not proven guilty. The evidence is only enough to prove
this could have happen to anybody, even one of the Trial judges
coming back to Indonesia from a holiday in Australia.
Mick Keelty in articles on Wed 11/05 is disgusting in his choice
of grammar where his media quotes appear to be design to promote
Corby as guilty. He needs to go back to primary school or english
speaking skills courses." Howard, Australia
"Please add my name
to the petition. Something must be done to save this woman."
Jamie, Unknown
"Hello, please add me to
the petition. Im from holland and I dont understand some comments.
First of all how are you soo sure that this girl is innocent??
We must accept the law of other countries and if you go to other
countries especially those in Asia you know about their drug
system/law!! If the Australians will boycot Indonesia, it wont
hurt the government/law system but the nice ever so friendly
indonesians who already suffered from terrorism. I agree Indonesia
should not give Shapelle the dealth penalty, so I will fill
this petition for not giving her the death penalty!! "
Davy, The Netherlands
"Corby is innocent. It could have
happened yo my daughter April 1991 while on honeymoon in Bali.
They found a package of that looked to be heroin in their bags.
The Australian Consul advised to destroy the drugs and run.
Not to tell the authorities." Alex, Perth, Western
Australia
"I support the release of Schapelle
Corby. It is a travesty that this has been allowed to carry
on as long as it has." Michael, Criminalist, San Diego,
USA
"
don't know if the thoughts of an American matter for your petition
but I would like you to add my name. It's stories like this
that have kept me from travelling to many parts of (what we
call) the far east like Tibet and Indonesia. The fact that someone
swiching (or planting something in) your bags can lead to your
lifelong imprisonment or even execution has repulsed me from
these destinations. It's unfortunate since I'm very interested
in the culture, history, and folk music from both of these countrys.
I know I'm not alone in my personal boycot (terror) of these
destinations. I know many other Americans who won't vacation
in Tibet for the very same reason. Indonesia is swiftly becoming
a wicked facist state. I'm also concerned for the wellbeing
of the Paupans who are being slaughtered because they happen
to live on land which is now known to be valuable to the miners.
I hope everything works out okay." Tim, USA
"It is so obvious Schapelle Corby is innocent. Why would
anyone buy drugs worth $A60,000 in Australia and take them to
Bali where they can only be sold for $A4,000??? This alone is
enough to convince me that she is innocent. Also how can the
judges in this case make public statements about their thoughts
on the trial before it is over? How corrupt is that? I have
travelled to Bali five times and will NEVER put foot on Indonesian
soil again, nor will I buy any products made in Indonesia. Australians
STOP travelling to Indonesia.! They need the Australian tourist
dollars so lets all deprive them of this. It will hurt them
more than anything else. Money is the only thing that counts
there and tourists are only cash cows to them to see how much
money they can milk from us. If you want a holiday go to somewhere
in Australia or one of the many beautiful islands in the South
Pacific and you will see how genuine and lovely the people are
there, and you will never want to go to Indonesia again. Shapelle
is innocent and
caught up in a horrid nightmare, which could hapen to anyone
of us if we travel there. What are the airlines doing to ensure
baggage cannot be tampered with? Until this issue is sorted,
I will be staying home. Love and best wishes, stay strong Schapelle
and know the people of Australia are with you 100%." Di,
Melbourne, Australia
"This has already gone
to far! This reall has to stop asap. Let this girl go home!"
Jeanine, Netherlands
"Please add my name to the petition. We must do everything
to get her out of Bali and back home." Leonard, Melbourne,
Australia
"No one person nor goverment have
jurisdiction over the life of other human being and certainly
no crime on heart should be punish disposing of such lives,
let alone when the victim is not only innocent but all about
that. Victim! I which I could do any thing to help saving Schapelle's
life." Geo, Unknown
"Dear Gabrielle, At 67 years of age
one has to wonder if Indonesia will ever emerge from from the
dark ages! This girl has travelled to Bali before, and after
talking to people I know who have been there on holidays, she
would know that taking drugs there would be like "taking
coals to Newcastle"!!! Drugs can be bought there for very
little and even little Balinese kids offer to sell them to anybody
who is interested. Clean up the airport security and find the
"Top Dogs". This girl must be found innocent and I
must say it is of utmost urgency that this should occur - Indonesians
can kill and mutilate people who were spending their dollars
in Bali - have any of them been shot for the atrocities they
inflicted on the people who have been keeping Bali afloat for
years? Good luck Schapelle - my prayers are with you and hope
you will be granted a safe return home." Judy, Queensland,
Australia
"Schapelle Corby must be freed.
There is no justice in Indonesia and I just don't understand
how one of the Bali bombers receieves only 2.5 years jail, but
Schapelle is facing at least 20yrs or even worse still. There
may as well have not have been a trial, I really didn't see
the point of it, except to spread out the fun that the judge
must be having. I do not believe that the judge has listened
to the evidence or looked at it, he doesn't care at all, he
made a decision before the trial started and he will stick to
it.
I don't understand why the Australian
Government can't do more either. They know she is innocent due
to the evidence, and even if she was guilty the trial that has
occured is NOT FAIR. I will not go to Bali for the simple fact
that if something goes wrong and something is put in my bag
that I'll never get out. I feel sorry for the people of Bali
because they will suffer, but people will be too scared to go
and support the Balinese people because they will be too scared
for their own freedom.THERE IS NO JUSTICE IN INDONESIA."
Marnie, Australia
"I wish to add my voice to those
already saying to the Indonesian Government, set Schapelle free
and send her home. The Indonesian Government has a big problem
which we are not addressing; Terrorists get 2 years for killing
and maiming hundreds while an innocent tourist may get a life
in jail or death by firing squad sentence for importing some
cannabis. Why can't the Australian Government have the internal
fortitude to speak our minds to them? Me and my family going
to Bali or Indonesia for a holiday; .....not bloody likely!!!"
Terry, Australia
"Whatever the alleged crime a firing
squad in the twentieth century is barbaric." Ken,
UK
"Please add my name to the petition
to save Schapelle Corby. My heart and prayers go out to her
and her family." Carole, Crescent City, Ca. U.S.A.
"Please add my name to the petition
to try and save Schapelle Corby. And I implore you to do whatever
you can to save her. I don't know the facts but the death penalty
is, or should, be out of the question." Wolfgang, Germany
"It should be patently clear to
any person of intelligence that Schapelle's behaviour is that
of an innocent person. Even the prosecution admitted two thiangs:
it was her first 'offense', and her behaviour has been very
respectful. Tnese are not the hallmarks of someone who is pulling
a 'con job' to got off, but of someone who has nothing to fear
from the truth. Usually, in these cases, even if the person
is innocent, some kind of 'dirt' comes up. Nothing has come
up about Schapelle; in fact, the more that comes up, the more
impressed I am about her personal integrity. There has, of course,
been the real gutter press stuff, such as the 'pregnancy' rumour
(again Schapelle's immediate willingness to undergo a pregnancy
test, result negative, underlines her personal integrity), and
the 'Russell Crowe Japan prostitute' rumours, but does any person
with half a brain seriously believe that? In fact, this desparate
scandal-mongering to me only further underlines Schapelle's
"cleanness", as it indicates the desparation of the
gutter press to find something about her. They cannot, so they
bizarre rubbish.
I believe that Indonesia's world-profile for justice is on serious
display here. If Schapelle is found guilty, then no one will
take them seriously as a country with a just legal system. The
Indonesian Ambassador to Australian had called for Australians
to trust their legal system, as "Australians were satisified
with the outcome of the Bali bombing trial." Which Australians?
Certainly not me. In fact, there seems to be general outrage
that the Bali bombers get two years, and that Schapelle could
still face execution if found guilty. Get real, Mr Ambassador
- where has your head been for the last 3 years? I believe what
Schapelle - and her family - has suffered in Bali amounts to
psychological torture on an horrific scale. The prosecution
have said to the judges "Look not to your hearts, but your
heads, and look at the fact." I agree - and the facts tell
any thinking person that SCHAPELLE IN INNOCENT. Please add my
name to the petition." Rev Chris - Geelong, Australia
"I hope that the Australian government
comes to their senses and realizes that the moment one individual
life is more important than their political life. Explain to
me the difference between the person who kills unjustly and
the person who stands by and allows murder. Free Corby."
Cynthia, Little Rock Arkansas USA
"Australia's Daughter Shapelle Corby should be returned
home immediatly.I feel that she is a victim of an undercover
drug operation gone wrong and gone to far.She was in the wrong
place at the wrong time." Rhonda, Balmain, Australia
"Free this girl." Micheal,
France
"I am from Manchester UK and have
recently spent 3 glorious weeks in Perth, WA. Whilst there I
followed the Shapelle story with growing concern. Until reading
the story my biggest concern when travelling on airlines was
that my suitcase would not get lost! Small fry indeed! I certainly
wasn't thinking about that on my return journey to UK! Knowing
that my suitcase would be going via several bag handlers made
me very concerned. At the moment my 30 year old daughter is
travelling through Australia and into Thailand etc and I am
now very fearful. I did read in the West Australia newspaper
of Tamper Tags for suitcases, which I bought and used. I also
read of a wire mesh bag for backpacks etc - all of which would
make it a little trickier for anything to be slipped inside.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE free Shapelle Corby and show us all that
there is some justice in this beautiful but sometimes very unfair
and cruel world." Barbara, Manchester, UK
"I belief Schapelle is very innocent
as to what has happened. Doesn,t the judge realise that what
is going on in the airports in Sydney that there is a drug smuggling
racket going on. My daughter is soon to travel overseas and
she is going to get a lock you would know if it was tampered
with. She is off to London. She was only saying Bali might be
cheap but when all of this is going on you wouldn,t know if
they could even catch you for taking even prescription drugs
in there, as some don,t read English. She works in a Legal Office
and they have to deal with offenders all the time. She passed
a remark. That he didn,t understand what Schapelle said and
nodded to her. They come up against Judges and Magistrates all
the time and can tell you who is good and who is bad.
My heart goes out to Schapelle and I think and pray for her
and also her family. It must be heart wrenching for them to
see such a nice person like she is an innocent person be put
into jail for what somebody else had done to her. If only they
would fingerprint the bag they wouldn,t find any of her fingerprints
on it. They just haven,t done that." Margaret Australia
"It absolutely sickens me to no end that the murderers
who bombed Bali were practically let go without punishment,
but then the Indonesian judicial system wants to severely punish
Schapelle over planted drugs she had nothing to do with? Since
when is that justice? This is definitely an issue for all nations
to look at and the rights of the accused need to be protected!
This is a reminder that no one should go to Indonesia because
the laws, judicial system, and government operate in another
time era and it’s called the Stone Age! If more pressure
were put on the Indonesian government to change their outdated
and ridiculous laws, many a travelers wouldn’t be in Schapelle’s
situation. I hope the three Indonesian judges are able to sleep
at night knowing that they are about to convict an innocent
woman. Then again, I don’t think it is possible for any
of them to have a conscious, especially when they practically
allowed those bombers get away with murder! My heart and my
prayers are with her and her family and I am praying that God
will spare this young woman a terrible fate." Theresa,
Colorado, USA
"I am the owner of a travel agency
in Canada. I urge all travel agents worldwide to discourage
their clients from travelling to Bali, thus enhancing their
economy. If this is the world we are forced to endure, ALL luggage
NO EXCEPTIONS should be in a travellers possession while in
transit. What's the point of all the questions at check-in if
you're a sitting duck once it leaves your sight at the airport!!!
God Bless this innocent soul." AJG, Canada
"Boycott Bali NOW!The whole case
against Schapelle is corrupt. There are many other beautiful
places in the world to visit." Karen (Israel)
"Is
Schapelle Corby guilty? I do not know - only the person who
actually put the drug in the bag knows the truth. I have mixed
feelings, but do know that the death sentence is absolutely
pointless - what will be gained from the execution of this young
person. We have to accept the laws of whichever country we choose
to visit and feel the handling of this whole affair has been
a disaster from the beginning, the legal system in Indonesia
should have been allowed to run its course - nothing has been
gained by the circus that ensued and has only harmed Schapelle's
chances. The Indonesians do not appreciated interference in
their judicial system. That "loud mouth" from the
Gold Coast who set out for some free air time - did not help
Schapelle - only hindered. Would I but a mobile phone from this
man - not on your sweet nellie." Karin, Australia
